As a nine-year-old, Wes Humpage cared so much for his pet chickens that he would give them a bath, and then use his Mum’s hair dryer to groom them. Twenty-five years on Wes, now the joint owner of WesEggs, continues to provide an unparalleled level of care to his chickens. This summer, the chickens at WesEggs’ Maude farm will not suffer in the heat, thanks to a newly installed air-conditioner in the hen house. The care Wes and his wife Mandy provide for their chickens is genuine, but it has also become an integral part of the success of WesEggs.

“People are increasingly concerned about eating healthy, high-quality food and want to know how their food is produced. We have found young mothers in particular want to ensure they feed themselves and their children fresh, healthy, high quality food,” says Mandy.
