agri project yields national award nomination

The Agribusiness Strategy Implementation for the G21 Region project has been named as a finalist in the 2019 Economic Development Australia Awards for Excellence.

The Agribusiness Strategy Implementation project has been shortlisted for the Economic Development Initiatives – Over 15,000 Residents award from a record field of entries. This award highlights programs or projects that have stimulated economic development activity and contributed to economic development in larger regions.

The nomination acknowledges the successful collaboration of the Agribusiness Strategy Implementation project stakeholder group, including City of Greater Geelong, G21 Geelong Region Alliance, Surf Coast Shire, Golden Plains Shire, Colac Otway Shire, Regional Development Victoria, G21 Agribusiness Forum, Geelong Manufacturing Council, Geelong Food Cluster and representatives of the agribusiness industry.

Economic Development Australia is the national peak body for economic development professionals. Its prestigious national awards program recognises Australia’s best economic development programs and partnerships, marketing campaigns, and the year’s most influential leaders.

The Agribusiness Strategy Implementation project will be showcased in a special edition of the Economic Development Australia Journal as an example of outstanding achievement, and award winners will be announced on Thursday 24 October.
